Building Better Outcomes Through Industry Involvement

How Jamie Corcoran Helps Forte Customers Navigate Evolving Standards

Meeting code, avoiding delays, and ensuring long-term performance are daily challenges for anyone designing or maintaining commercial spaces. That’s why having industry voices focused on real-world application, not just compliance, is so important.

Jamie Corcoran is one of those contributors helping move the industry forward. As a member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the Window and Door Manufacturers Association (WDMA), he contributes to the development of fire safety guidelines, materials standards, and door performance codes that impact how buildings are designed, specified, and secured. His insights, particularly in the area of fire-rated door assemblies, enable Forte to develop and recommend solutions that prioritize life safety while reducing unnecessary complexity—helping customers make confident, code-compliant decisions that support better project outcomes.

Organizations:

  • NFPA – General Member, staying current on NFPA 80 and related standards that impact door performance and customer requirements

  • WDMA – Committee member on NADC, ADCSC, and MSTC

Jamie’s Perspective: Being involved helps me stay ahead of industry trends, regulatory changes, and customer expectations, all of which strengthen how we support our customers at Forte. I’ve learned that focusing on product performance, rather than prescribing unnecessary characteristics, is what truly matters to the people we serve.

Why It Matters

When Forte team members take part in standards development, they bring back insights that directly benefit our customers, whether that’s simplifying specifications, improving testing alignment, or anticipating future requirements. Jamie’s engagement is one more way we help deliver solutions with purpose, clarity, and confidence; doors that meet code, support safe egress, and perform in the spaces where safety and performance matter most.
